An elderly woman with glasses and gray hair, wearing a black sleeveless top and a red skirt with floral pattern, stands with her hands pressed together in a prayer-like gesture in front of a brown wooden door with an ornate arched window above it. The door has signs and posters, including one for yoga classes and another indicating the entrance is reserved for members.

Jivamukti Yoga Teacher
& Postpartum Doula

I remember the first time I saw a million billion stars, galaxies within galaxies of stars, in the dark night sky. I still remember that feeling of awe and mystery. I knew that I wanted to live in direct relationship with this power.

Join me in bringing this power into your life. I teach yoga classes and workshops, as well as national and international retreats.

An older man and a young girl are in an art studio, working on a painting together. The girl is seated on a stool, looking at the camera, while the man points at the painting with a brush. There are several paintings and art supplies around them.

In 2003 I completed a 300 hour teacher certification in Jivamukti Yoga, the first residential program taught by co-founders David Life and Sharon Gannon. Since then I have participated in many trainings and retreats taught by notable teachers such as Sharon Gannon, David Life, Michael Stone, Jules Febre, Shiva Rea and Ruth Lauer-Manenti.

My childhood story helped connect me deeply to Jivamukti Yoga. I was raised in a large Catholic family, where devotion and service were modeled to me in everyday life. My grandfather, Aldo Piacenza, was an artist, and his frescoes of saints, his shrines of holy beings, and his prolific paintings of the churches of Italy are etched deeply in my consciousness. This sacredness informs my practice as a yoga teacher and a guide for transformation.

In addition to yoga, I am certified in massage therapy, Thai yoga massage, cranial sacral therapy, Chinese medicine, and postpartum care. All of these modalities have brought me to the place I am, standing in mountain with you.

In my life I am also a wife, mother, homesteader and maker. I live with glorious views of the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia out my windows.

I am ready to be your guide as you unwind into your own healing and realize your fullest potential.

Namaste. See you on the mat!
